So I quickly finished the Fantastic Four comicon piece (nothing like waiting until the last minute, tee hee). Below you will find the pencils, the inks (much thanks to Troger aka Tom Rogers) and the finished color. Enjoy. dove Oh, and if you would like to buy this piece, go here http://imagetalker.blogspot.com/p/original-art-sale.html

Drawing. Class 10.
So here's what I did in class today. Hands and feet. I'm so lucky to be able to continue to improve my skills as I teach weeeee! These aren't everything from today, we also did shoes. It's not unusual for me to use almost an entire ream of 11x17 copy paper in a quarter. If you want more check out the sample of other in class demos here http://imagetalker.blogspot.com/p/what-i-did-in-class.html

Aargghh!
Here's more inking practice. I'm prepping for my next project and I'm trying new things, including new tools. A lot of this was inked with a toothpick. That's right, a toothpick.

Nemo Preview!!!
So, it's been a while since I messed with this guy, and boy am I excited. I've been getting some help from someone I have respected and been a fan of for many years, and he has been coming up with some of the pieces I have been missing in the story. Be on the lookout for some "test" pages I'll be posting soon, as I try to get the look and feel settled for the art. It will be a full 100 page graphic novel. whew! Here we go again.

oooooo Octopus
I'm trying to "brush" up (I can use pun humour I'm a dad) on my inking, so here's what happens when I try new inking styles. No matter how hard I try to be clean and precise, I end up with sloppy and gestural. Oh well, I kind of like it.

Last Indy page for now.
So here's the last page of the little sequence I did, see previous posts for the previous pages. First the much revised thumbnail, the version one (without table, I could not get the legs on Indy right rrrgggggghhhh!!!), then, thanks to Ray Goto, with table, and covering the abomination of legs before it. I think it looks more dynamic the second way anyway.

Indiana Jones pg 2
See my previous entry for previous page http://imagetalker.blogspot.com/2011/04/indiana-jones-comic.html
Here's the next one. Thumbnail, then finished pencils. I couldn't make the "catch" work in panel 5, so I just had Indy pick up his trusty Smith and Wesson. Also still not completely satisfied with panel 3. There should be a story beat before that bit of action. I'll keep at it though. Next page soon.

What I did in class today; Torso
So I thought it might be cool to start posting some of my in class demos. They're definitely not always perfect. It's kind of like performing jazz in front of a crowd, sometimes you hit it, sometimes you don't. Today we covered the major muscle groups of the torso. Enjoy And if you like this go check out more here http://imagetalker.blogspot.com/p/what-i-did-in-class.html

Hey Everyone, even more Father of 3!
Here's some more Father of 3 strips. The last one here, I did just before the second Pirates of the Caribean movie came out, so I just wanted to draw pirates.
This was inspired by all the questions we used to get when the boys were babies.
Ok, I just wanted to draw myself as a pirate. arrgggghhhhh.
