Welp, big things afoot for the Nemo project. I've been spending the summer thus far doing a lot of design work for this book. Here's a jail cell for an early scene in the book, and a little detail of the interior of one of the subs. Toned with markers and powdered graphite. Enjoy

Even MORE Blade Runner
Periodic Heroes was having a Blade Runner week, so I HAD to show some love for one of my all time favorite movies. So below you'll find all of the Blade Runner animated images I've done so far with the most recent Deckard piece on top. Enjoy. If you haven't seen this film yet, you should watch the most recent edition of it, it is awesome.

Process "Doubt"
So I did some art for church. They have projectors that display a "slide" image during the sermon, and they asked me to do the art for a series called "Doubt is not a four letter word?". So you can see the whole process below, from several thumbnails (and of course we went with the first idea I had) to pencils, inks, color, and how it finally looked on stage. Cool huh?
HeroesCon Cap sketch
So I had a great time at Heroes Con in Charlotte, saw lots of peeps I normally only converse with via email. It was cool to get to meet Tommy Lee Edwards whole family there too. Here's a sketch I did for the super sassy David Allan Duncan. Worth every drop, tee hee.

Animal sketches
Some old sketchbooks I discovered had some animal drawings I completely forgot about. Here are a few. I'll post more later. Drawing animals can be a fun way to practice drawing form and texture without the added pressure of getting a human figure "correct". All were done with black prismacolor pencil, a great sketching tool.

Canon Fall 2011 cover!
Here's the current state of the cover for the new issue of Canon! I think this is going to be a great issue. I had a great crew of grads. Should be available sometime in late summer. Thanks Dave, Gloria, Phil, and Chris (or should I say Maxamillian?). You guys rock! See cover process below. 10x15", pencils and inks on illustration board, kid finish. Color in Photoshop.
