So I've been playing with a new technique for completing my comic pages. This one is a first attempt and some of the values need to be a bit darker and some higher contrast, but there are some cool things I think happening here. What do you think? "always changing, always growing" -dove
Yeah, needs more contrast. More whites and more blacks. There's a bit too much grey right now. It's a tough balance (I'm sweating bullets over the washes I'm going to attempt this week). It does have a real cool look, though.
ReplyDeleteI like the dirty, toned look. Have you considered going with more of a golden ochre hue?
ReplyDeleteFor the brush-strokes, I way it leads the eye around the page. It seems most successful in Panel 4, since you maintain the depth by varying direction of the brushstrokes. Some of the others tend to flatten out a bit.
