Drawing. Class 10.

So here's what I did in class today. Hands and feet. I'm so lucky to be able to continue to improve my skills as I teach weeeee! These aren't everything from today, we also did shoes. It's not unusual for me to use almost an entire ream of 11x17 copy paper in a quarter. Here's more inking practice. I'm prepping for my next project and I'm trying new things, including new tools. A lot of this was inked with a toothpick. That's right, a toothpick.

Nemo Preview!!!

So, it's been a while since I messed with this guy, and boy am I excited. I've been getting some help from someone I have respected and been a fan of for many years, and he has been coming up with some of the pieces I have been missing in the story. Be on the lookout for some "test" pages I'll be posting soon, as I try to get the look and feel settled for the art. It will be a full 100 page graphic novel. whew! Here we go again.

I'm trying to "brush" up (I can use pun humour I'm a dad) on my inking, so here's what happens when I try new inking styles. No matter how hard I try to be clean and precise, I end up with sloppy and gestural. Oh well, I kind of like it.

Canon RETURNETH!!!

Ok, so I'm forcing the grad students to do it in my drawing class, the point is.... IT RETURNETH! And below you will find-eth the pencils and the ink-eths. I decided to do the cover myself this time. The grads are working hard on this, and it will be awesome-eth! Look for a preview copy in about a month.
