Sallah step by step

So I didn't really nail the likeness, but here it is anyway. I tried to snap a pic at all the major steps. Enjoy
Initial pencils. HB and prismacolor black on gessoed surface.
 More prismacolor pencils to start working the values.
 Initial airbrush pass, just to get some of the local colors in. Looks pretty terrible at this stage.

After some white airbrush is added, it's just about done.

  1. Sounds like a bunch of fun media to work with. I've never tried airbrush though. How do you like it?

  2. Airbrush can be a challenge, but to get that look, it's the only media to use (at least in the traditional world). The only real drawback is the clean up of real airbrush. So as often as I can I use the copic airbrush system. Similar look, much less set up and clean up. rok.
